MUMBAI: Renowned Telugu playback singer Kalpana Raghavendar was found in an unconscious state at her apartment in Hyderabad on Tuesday. As per PTI, the police from KPHB were notified by the area Residents' Association and had to break open a door to access her apartment. She was directly taken to a private hospital at Nizampet, and she is under stable condition right now.
Singer Took Sleeping Pills, Investigation Underway
Physicians attending Kalpana have confirmed that she took sleeping pills, but more will be revealed once she is fully conscious. Her husband, Prasad, who was based in Chennai, allegedly phoned community members to inquire about her condition after failing to receive any response for two days.
Kalpana had just arrived from Kerala for a function in Hyderabad. The authorities are now investigating why this happened.
Friends and Well-Wishers Visit Kalpana
Several members of the music fraternity, including Geeta Madhuri and Sunitha, visited Kalpana at the hospital to check on her well-being.
Who is Kalpana Raghavendar?
Kalpana is a well-known playback singer with a career of more than 1,500 songs. She was the title winner of Idea Star Singer Malayalam Season 5 and a contestant in Bigg Boss Telugu Season 1. Kalpana began singing at the age of five and is the daughter of the legendary playback singers TS Raghavendra and Sulochana.
