Telugu singer Kalpana Raghavendar was hospitalised on Tuesday night after she was discovered unconscious at her home in Hyderabad. The singer had supposedly tried to commit suicide, according to reports. However, her daughter has now spoken out to dismiss these reports.

Kalpana's daughter refutes reports of mother's suicide attempt

In an interview with the media, Kalpana's daughter dismissed rumors of her mother's attempt to commit suicide and said, "My mother has no problems. She is fine, happy and healthy. She is a singer and also doing her PhD and LLB, which resulted in insomnia. She took the tablets given by her doctor for her insomnia. Due to tension, there was a minor drug overdose. Don't twist and misinterpret any news."

She also gave an update on her mother's health, stating, "My mother is fine, and both my parents are perfectly happy. Everyone in my family is fine. She will be back soon. This was not a suicide attempt; it was just a slight overdose of insomnia tablets. Please do not spread or distort any misinformation."

What has happened to Kalpana?

According to reports, the KPHB police station was called at emergency by the apartment committee at approximately 5 pm. On reaching Kalpana's place, the police officers found that the door of her apartment was locked. They did, however, see through the kitchen window that the singer was unconscious on her bed. She was straight away rushed to hospital by the authorities. Her doctors said she had consumed sleeping pills. Till now, the condition of the singer is stable.
