Trump cuts more than $400 million in grants to Columbia over antisemitism concerns, potentially more to come

The university was repeatedly subjected to pro-antiIsrael demonstrations this week in the image of the student campouts which swathed Columbia, and by extension campuses across America, in their aftermath when Hamas launched the terrorist attack against innocent Israelis on Oct. 7, 2023. Students stormed and tried to take over a campus library, for which nine people were arrested on Wednesday, writes the New York Post.
Linda McMahon, the Trump Secretary of Education, stopped by campus on Friday to speak with university officials and address the recent issues surrounding antisemitism.

"Americans have witnessed in outrage for over a year now, as Jewish students have been harassed and attacked on top-tier university campuses—again and again overrun by antisemitic agitators and students. Illegal encampments and protests have brought day-to-day campus operations to a complete standstill, denying Jewish students educational opportunities to which they are entitled," McMahon stated in a release earlier this week.

"Federally funded institutions do have a responsibility to ensure that all of their students are safe from discrimination. Columbia's evident failure to keep their part of this fundamental bargain should very seriously call into question the fitness of the institution to continue conducting business with the United States government."
