"Democrats wouldn't stand or clap for a little boy with cancer," Libs of TikTok wrote on X. "Sick people."
"Can't believe the terrible Democrats can't even applaud a little boy with brain cancer or a Kennedy who wants to Make America Healthy Again," New York Post columnist Miranda Devine tweeted on X.
Others pointed out the broader significance of the moment, though.

A few Democrats had protested at the beginning of Trump's speech on Tuesday evening, even prompting Rep. Al Green to be removed by the Sergeant of Arms on the request of House Speaker Mike Johnson. Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, and Sen. Bernie Sanders, D-V.T., also left the speech prematurely.
