But Williamson County officials won't charge Williamson County Attorney Shawn Williamson's deputy, Shawn Dick said after talking to several witnesses.
"After additional investigation by the Williamson County Sheriff's Office and additional conversation with a third-party witness, Mr. Worthy and his attorneys, this case is being declined at this time pending completion of the investigation by the Williamson County Sheriff's Office," Dick wrote in an email, according to the news site.
"Mr. Worthy and his attorneys are cooperating completely with this investigation.
"We will continue to review the case. As is our practice with all declines, if you develop further information that is indicative of probable cause in this case, our office will consider that information and may present the case at that time to a Williamson County Grand Jury."
A day after the arrest news broke out, lawyers Chip Lewis and Sam Bassett issued a statement for Worthy claiming his innocence.

We are aware of the charge that resulted in Mr. Worthy's arrest," the statement, which was obtained by The Associated Press, read. "We are cooperating with law enforcement in Williamson County to make sure they have the advantage of the totality of circumstances that resulted in this charge."
The attorneys claimed the "complainant" was not willing to vacate Worthy's house despite repeated pleas. Worthy's team also alleged the claimed victim tried to extort the NFL player and termed the claim leveled against their client as "baseless."
"The complainant has been requested several times the past two weeks to leave Mr. Worthy's home on finding her infidelity, evidence of which exists on video to a private investigator. She will not leave the home and attempted a series of extortionate steps before resorting to this false complaint against Mr. Worthy."
The property of Worthy was harmed, and his body was attacked, as stated. The receiver of the Chiefs also told the authorities he was not in agreement with charging anything, the statement said.

The outlet posted that Worthy remained in a Williamson County jail as of 6:50 p.m. ET, and it may be several hours before he is discharged.
Worthy ended his rookie NFL season on 638 yards receiving and six touchdowns. Three rushing touchdowns, including three at the Super Bowl last month between the Chiefs' 40-22 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles, were achieved by him as well. Two touchdowns were scored by the 21-year-old.
Ahead of getting drafted in the first round last year, he set the NFL Scouting Combine record with a 4.21 40-yard dash.
