FBI Foils Potential Terror Attack in Michigan, Multiple Suspects Arrested

Detroit, Michigan — The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has thwarted what officials described as a “potential terrorist attack” in Michigan, arresting multiple individuals believed to be involved in the alleged plot during the Halloween weekend.

FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the operation early Friday morning, stating that federal agents intervened before any violence occurred.

“This morning, the FBI thwarted a potential terrorist attack and arrested multiple subjects in Michigan who were allegedly plotting a violent attack over Halloween weekend,” Patel announced on X (formerly Twitter). “More details to come.”

Patel did not specify how many suspects were taken into custody or what charges they face.

FBI Activity in Detroit Suburbs

According to Jordan Hall, spokesperson for the FBI’s Detroit Field Office, federal agents were active in Dearborn and Inkster, two cities located just outside Detroit.

While Hall did not confirm whether those operations were directly tied to the alleged plot, he emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.

Local law enforcement agencies in the Detroit metro area have reportedly increased their presence at public events and large gatherings through the weekend as a precaution.

Investigation Ongoing

Federal authorities have not yet released details regarding the suspects’ motives, possible affiliations, or the nature of the planned attack. Officials say more information will be made public once charges are formally filed.

The announcement comes amid heightened security alerts nationwide during the Halloween season — a time when large crowds gather at public festivities.

The FBI said it will continue coordinating with state and local law enforcement to ensure safety across Michigan communities.
