Piers Morgan Tells James Carville ‘Trans Stuff’ Matters to Conservative Voters ‘More Than You Think’ | Video
Piers Morgan and James Carville (Piers Morgan Uncensored)Transgender athletes competing in women's sport "means more to you than you realize" to American conservative voters, Piers Morgan maintained in an interview with James Carville on "Piers Morgan Uncensored."
"If you want the state track meet, do something about it. We have an athletic association, they can make it happen," Carville explained of his own position Friday.“But if you’re more concerned with that or more concerned about bathroom stalls, then hang out in bathrooms. This is not of a concern to me,” he continued. “There are people that can deal with this. I’m worried about the cost of living. I’m worried about access to healthcare.”
I would contest that," Morgan interrupted. "Many of the Democrats have attempted to tell me, 'It didn't actually matter, the trans and the woke,' and I continue to say, I believe that it matters more than you realize.
He went on to say that the problem enabled Trump to take "himself up as the voice of common sense" for a bloc of voters who have put huge significance on the issue, "and you had a party spearheaded by Joe Biden and Kamala, who both believed it's okay for biological men to compete in women's sport, for instance, that really was more potent than people appreciated, in the third tier of why they voted.
Such voters, Morgan added, voted on the lines of the "Economy, one, immigration, two, woke mind virus, three. Backed by Kamala Harris."
Morgan has taken his own stance previously on the issue. In February 2022 he referred to the row over trans swimmer Lia Thomas as "obviously, grotesquely unfair.
"Trans rights can be supported – as I do – and you can think that trans individuals can have complete equality and justice, up to the point where it causes a new injustice," he stated on "Fox & Friends."
Thomas was made a celebrity following her establishment of the fastest time in the nation in the 200 and 500 freestyle swims for women and qualifying to compete in the NCAA National Championships. Thomas commenced hormone replacement treatment two and half years prior to establishing the record. Trans players at the time were expected to suppress testosterone levels for one year prior to taking part in playing on a team of women.
The issue has been a central part of political debate since in the months and years that have passed. In December 2024 NCAA President Charlie Baker testified that he estimates that out of about 500,000 NCAA athletes, fewer than 10 are transgender. In February, Trump signed an executive order excluding transgender athletes in from women's sports (interesting to note, the order did not exclude trans athletes from men's sports).
